Job Summary
Conduct client assessments to evaluate fitness levels and establish measurable goals, then design customized programs covering cardiovascular, strength, and stretching exercises. Deliver daily instruction by demonstrating proper techniques, providing positive reinforcement, and tracking progress to adjust training plans as needed. Ensure safety by enforcing hygiene guidelines, performing CPR and first aid per the Birnam Wood protocol, and maintaining a clean environment. Retain clients through excellent service and relationship building while delivering health and wellness education on lifestyle factors. Maintain accurate attendance records, clock in/out via Paycom, and complete required online training while supporting colleagues and navigating studio systems.
Required Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of physical exercise and human physiology
- Ability to determine appropriate workout plans according to individual needs and goals
- Strong motivational presence and enthusiasm for helping clients achieve their fitness goals
- Passion for fitness and health
- Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
- Physical ability and stamina to demonstrate exercise techniques accurately over long periods of time
- In-depth knowledge of gym equipment, machines, and up to date fitness techniques
- Personal hygiene, appearance and a positive attitude and appreciation of the service industry
- Providing accurate accounting for class attendance
- Proper clocking in/out/punch changes with Paycom
- Performs required on-line training
- Understanding the protocols for emergencies
- Usage of Paycom
- Usage of Studio sound system
- How to navigate the Birnam Wood app
- How to help members
Desired Qualifications
- Certification with nationally recognized Personal Trainer organization, such as ACSM, NSCA, NASM or equivalent experience
- Pilates Reformer Certified
- Proven experience designing workout plans tailored to individuals
- CPR and first aid certifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead classes effectively
- Background in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field
- Strong teaching and leadership skills
- Commitment to staying current on health and fitness best practices
- Extensive experience working with active older adults
