Job Summary
Administer Jump Start consultations and design individual fitness programs for YMCA members, interpreting assessment results to align with client goals. Deliver 7 to 20+ paid personal training sessions weekly through one-on-one, half-hour, or small group formats while effectively communicating pricing options. Drive usage of technology-based platforms and support YMCA policies by answering member questions and attending staff meetings. Ensure proper exercise form and safety during all interactions. This role includes a 4% or 5% commission on packages sold and requires current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Certified in one or more of the following: ACE – CPT, NETA – CPT, AFAA CPT, Cooper Institute CPT, IFPA – CPT, NASM or equivalency
- Successful completion of online or in class required certifications
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certification
- Physically able to demonstrate proper exercise form
- Visually able to observe clients to assure correct training methods, techniques, and positions
- Able to read exercise and testing equipment accurately
- Able to physically demonstrate each area of the fitness assessment, including lifting 35 and 85 pound barbells without strain
- I will support the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region's commitment to child abuse prevention by: Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Complete Hazardous Communications, Harassment Prevention, Blood-borne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training and attend Living Our Cause/Engaging our members at time of hire
- Maintain CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer every year
- Maintain First Aid and Oxygen Certification every 2 years
- Blood-borne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
- Maintain HIPAA every year
- Maintain national accredited Personal Training Certification
