Job Summary
Conduct client assessments, establish fitness goals, and design customized workout plans covering cardiovascular, strength, and stretching routines. Deliver instruction on proper exercise techniques, demonstrate movements, and provide positive reinforcement to motivate clients. Track progress, adjust training plans, and ensure a safe, clean environment while enforcing safety guidelines. Perform CPR and first aid as needed, adhering to the Birnam Wood protocol. Provide nutritional advice and health education where formally educated. Maintain accurate class attendance records, clock in/out via Paycom, and complete required online training. Stay current on fitness trends through continuing education and support colleagues in the workspace.
Required Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of physical exercise and human physiology
- Ability to determine appropriate workout plans according to individual needs and goals
- Strong motivational presence and enthusiasm for helping clients achieve their fitness goals
- Passion for fitness and health
- Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
- Physical ability and stamina to demonstrate exercise techniques accurately over long periods of time
- In-depth knowledge of gym equipment, machines, and up to date fitness techniques
- Personal hygiene, appearance and a positive attitude and appreciation of the service industry
- Providing accurate accounting for class attendance
- Proper clocking in/out/punch changes with Paycom
- Performs required on-line training
- Understanding the protocols for emergencies
- Usage of Paycom
- Usage of Studio sound system
- How to navigate the Birnam Wood app
- How to help members
Desired Qualifications
- Certification with nationally recognized Personal Trainer organization, such as ACSM, NSCA, NASM or equivalent experience
- Pilates Reformer Certified
- Proven experience designing workout plans tailored to individuals
- CPR and first aid certifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead classes effectively
- Background in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field
- Strong teaching and leadership skills
- Commitment to staying current on health and fitness best practices
- Extensive experience working with active older adults
