Job Summary
Create a positive member experience by greeting participants, building community relationships, and helping members reach their Health & Wellness Goals. Provide a safe workout routine by demonstrating proper form, cueing correct position, and offering appropriate modifications to prevent injuries. Maintain a clean and safe workout area while effectively utilizing scheduled training time and properly setting up and breaking down equipment. Respond to critical situations using visual and auditory abilities, and lead fitness activities with strong verbal communication skills. Work any shift times including 10am-2pm and up to 6pm.
Required Qualifications
- NCCA Accredited Certification: ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NASM
- 4 year degree in related field
- 1 year Exercise Science Certification
- specialty certification specific to training type
- All job required trainings within 90 days from date of hire
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of fitness principles and practical applications
- Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification
- Adult and Child/Infant certification for CPR/AED, and First Aid
- Certification from American Red Cross
- Certification from American Heart Association
- Certification from American Safety & Health Institute
