Job Summary
Deliver personalized fitness sessions and design customized programs to help members achieve health goals. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one appointments, providing proper technique instruction, motivating members, tracking progress, ensuring timely follow-up within 24 hours of referrals, maintaining safety and professionalism, and adhering to YMCA policies. Required to hold current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and a valid personal training credential; engage members, communicate effectively, and support program engagement and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- AGE: Eighteen years or older
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field preferred
- CERTIFICATIONS: Current Adult/Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED Certification from ARC, AHA or ASHI; Personal training certificate from NASM, NSCA, NCCPT, ACE, AFAA, and ACSM required. Certifications must be current at time of hire.
- If staff choose not to keep their non-Y certifications current, staff will be required to complete the Y-ACE certifications.
- Y-ACE has an equivalency certification provision. Anyone holding an equivalent certification from another recognized entity can apply for an equivalency.
