Job Summary
Assist patients with activities of daily living including feeding, transfers, bathing, and skin care. Perform delegated tasks from registered nurses in compliance with hospital policies and patient safety plans. Communicate basic information according to pre-established care plans and maintain accurate patient records. Report unsafe conditions, equipment failures, and patient behavioral or cognitive changes to regulated health providers immediately. Maintain current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority and hold a Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate. Work variable shifts of 12 hours at Queen's Estate within the Transitional Care Program.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
- Ability to handle daily mild to moderate physical exertion (i.e. constant standing, walking, climbing, reaching and frequent movement) on an occasional to frequent basis
- Good attendance record
Desired Qualifications
- Behavioral management training (such as PIECES, U-First, CPI)
- Acute care and/or previous rehab experience
- Excellent computer skills
