Job Summary
Casual part-time Personal Support Worker in Kingston, Ontario, providing in-facility personal care in Transitional Care Units. Duties include following established care plans to support emotional, social, and physical well-being; skin, bathing, mouth and wound care, feeding including special diets, positioning and movement, oxygen administration, and medication reminders; observe and document client conditions; maintain infection prevention practices; participate in continuing education and quality initiatives; uphold confidentiality. Requires PSW certificate (Ontario college program or approved Ontario PSW program), current BLS, N95 fit test, proof of immunizations (MMRV, Hepatitis B, Tdap, COVID-19), proof of TB testing or chest x-ray, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, and compliance with vaccination requirements.
Required Qualifications
- PSW certificate from an Ontario Community College Program OR a private career college in Ontario registered with and approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities with successful completion of the final examination administered by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) OR an approved Ontario Board of Education PSW Program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- N95 mask fit test certificate
- Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV), Hepatitis B, Tdap, and COVID-19
- Proof of negative TB skin test within the past 1 year or negative chest x-ray within the past 5 years
- Willing to undergo Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination as required by government mandates
