Job Summary
Provide care to residents according to established care plans and assist in identifying resident needs. Monitor care to ensure alignment with the plan, document information, participate in in-service education, and assist in onboarding new staff. Adhere to Infection Prevention and Control policies and maintain a safe, home-like environment for residents, families, and staff. Requires PSW certificate/diploma, familiarity with geriatric care, sanitation practices, and the ability to support a diverse, inclusive team within AgeCare communities across Alberta, BC and Ontario. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program
- Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities
- Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges
- Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association
- Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents
- Must understand the basics of good sanitation and cleaning techniques and be knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents
