Job Summary
Monitor care plans for residents by observing their condition and reporting findings to the immediate supervisor. Document care information as directed and attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops. Assist in the onboarding of new staff and maintain a safe environment by following Infection Prevention and Control policies. Provide bedside care to geriatric residents while ensuring sanitation standards are met. Apply vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training and the National Association of Career Colleges.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program
- Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities
- Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges
- Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association
- Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents
- Must understand the basics of good sanitation and clean techniques
- Knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents
- Licensed or registered for the position (where applicable)
