Job Summary
This position involves providing care, companionship, and support to clients in a private home or retirement home, focusing on mental stimulation activities for clients with Dementia, performing homemaking tasks, and assisting with medication reminders. Successful candidates will have experience in dementia care, a PSW certificate, and at least six months of caregiver experience. A positive attitude, good social skills, and the capability to perform light cleaning and lifting are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Dementia Care experience is a requirement
- Successful completion of a Provincial-approved Personal Support Worker certificate
- At least six months experience as a Caregiver (in homes or facilities)
- Has a Police Vulnerable Sector Reference Check or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Ability to do light-cleaning and lifting (transferring clients, repositioning, and laundry)
- Ability to use an APP to enter clinical notes and login and logout
