Job Summary
Provide person-centred care to clients in their homes, assisting with daily living activities like bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility. Help develop individual care plans, prepare nutritious meals, and perform light housekeeping while monitoring the home environment for safety. Collaborate with healthcare teams and offer respite care to families. Travel between clients throughout the day, requiring a personal vehicle, current driver's license, and proof of insurance. Maintain a Standard First Aid or CPR level C certificate and a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. Wear appropriate PPE and demonstrate good body mechanics for physical tasks involving lifting, bending, and climbing stairs.
Required Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker or Developmental Services Worker certification
- Nursing students who have completed first year of RPN or BScN or internationally educated nurses
- current Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate
- current driver's license
- proof of vehicle insurance
- current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check
- ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- ability to lift, carry, bend, reach, kneel, and perform other movements that emphasize good body mechanics
- ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day
