Job Summary
Provide person-centred care to clients in their homes, supporting daily living activities like bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility transfers. Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and developing individual care plans while monitoring home safety. Offer respite care to families and collaborate with healthcare teams. Travel between clients throughout the day, requiring a personal vehicle, current driver's license, and insurance. Maintain a Standard First Aid or CPR C certificate and a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. Wear appropriate PPE and perform physical tasks involving lifting, carrying, bending, and climbing stairs.
Required Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker or Developmental Services Worker certification
- Nursing students who have completed first year of RPN or BScN or internationally educated nurses
- current Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate
- current driver's license
- proof of vehicle insurance
- current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check
- ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- ability to lift, carry, bend, reach, kneel, and perform other movements that emphasize good body mechanics
- ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day
