Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Full Time – Burlington Retirement Home

Job Summary
Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including morning and evening routines, hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility support, and safe transfers. Assist with meal preparation and feeding, monitor client conditions, and maintain accurate documentation while following infection prevention practices. Promote client dignity, independence, and comfort in a respectful environment. Work 42 hours per week across 7 days, split into 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening. Compensation ranges from $19 to $21/hour. A valid PSW Certificate and vulnerable sector check are required; CPR/First Aid and dementia care experience are assets.
Required Qualifications
- Valid PSW Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
- TB Test (up-to-date)
- CPR/First Aid (asset)
- Previous retirement home or private care experience (asset)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance and positive work record
