Job Summary
Assist patients with daily living activities including personal care, household tasks, medication assistance, and meal preparation for special diets. Promote a safe environment by demonstrating proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques, and home safety protocols. Provide cognitive, social, and emotional support to patients in home and community care settings. Work independently or as part of a team, adhering to non-traditional hours such as early mornings, evenings, and alternate weekends. Maintain a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. Requires a valid Personal Support Worker certificate or enrollment in a Nursing program, along with current vulnerable sector checks. Join a team serving 72,000 patients annually across Ontario's home health care network.
Required Qualifications
- A strong desire and commitment to making a difference in the lives of their patients
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work non-traditional hours, such as early morning, evenings, and alternate weekends
- A valid driver's license (G or G2 Classification), access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance
- Valid certificate as a Personal Support Worker, Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing program
- Current vulnerable sector check screening
- A clear background check
