Job Summary
Monitor care provided to residents to ensure alignment with established care plans, observing residents and reporting findings to the immediate supervisor. Document information regarding resident care as directed and attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops. Assist in the onboarding of new staff members while strictly adhering to Infection Prevention and Control policies. Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues by applying knowledge of geriatric needs, sanitation techniques, and simple bedside care treatments. This role supports a diverse, inclusive team at AgeCare, where residents receive high-quality, home-like care across multiple communities in Alberta, BC, and Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program
- Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities
- Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges
- Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association
- Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents
- Must understand the basics of good sanitation and cleaning techniques
- Knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents
- Must follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures
