Job Summary
Support residents with activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene, and grooming as per individual plans of care. Build relationships with residents and family members while encouraging participation in programs offered by the Resident Experience Team. Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support, including oral and dental care, and ensure access to mobility devices. Administer specific medication under the supervision of a registered health professional with additional prescribed training. Maintain constant access to assistive devices such as canes, walkers, and call bells. Work in a fast-paced Long Term Care environment to help seniors live fulfilling lives with dignity and respect.
Required Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution
- Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- Successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Detailed-oriented
- Proficient in procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment
- Ability to provide bedside care to residents
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families and general visitors
