Job Summary
Personal Support Worker (PSW) needed for part-time night shifts at Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. Provide personal care to assist residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, supporting physical, social and emotional needs in a safe, resident-centered manner and in accordance with government standards, residents’ rights, and the organization’s mission. Role requires PSW course in Ontario (or equivalent), CPR certificate, and (preferred) registration with HSCPOA. Night shifts, weekends, and variable schedules may apply. Skills include customer service, interpersonal communication, initiative, problem-solving, time management, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and basic computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office; Workday is an asset). Chinese language ability is an asset. Training in GPA, U-First, CPI and related behavioral-management approaches is an asset. Salary range CAD 25.41–27.62 hourly; eligible for competitive compensation and benefits. Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
- Experience in long term care setting an asset
- Current CPR Certificate
- Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
- Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
- Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset
- Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset
