Job Summary
Provide personal care to residents in accordance with home policies and established standards; assist residents with emotional, social, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs; transport residents for participation in activities as needed; observe and report changes in residents’ condition; follow safety and confidentiality practices; mentor PSW students and participate in staff orientation; maintain documentation and adhere to relevant Acts and policies; support resident safety and well-being, with a focus on customer service and teamwork in a long-term care home.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus a Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (per the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021)
- Previous work experience with seniors or in a long-term care facility
- Successful completion of a vulnerable sector check
- Satisfactory TB documentation
- Part time availability including on-call shifts (eleven shifts per four-week period, with four weekend shifts)
