Job Summary
Provide respectful, person-centered support to residents in daily activities like eating, dressing, and personal hygiene while following individualized care plans. Assist with communication tools and sensory aids, ensure easy access to mobility devices, and promote safety and independence. Offer ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support including oral and dental care, and encourage participation in Resident Engagement Team programs. Build lasting relationships with residents and their families to cultivate happiness and dignity in daily life. Work within a fast-paced environment supporting Canada's seniors to live fulfilling lives with comfort and respect.
Required Qualifications
- You provide respectful, person-centered support to residents in their daily activities, including eating, dressing, personal hygiene, and grooming, following each resident's individualized care plan
- You help residents stay connected and engaged by assisting with communication tools and sensory aids such as glasses or hearing devices, ensuring they are used comfortably and consistently
- You promote safety and independence by ensuring residents always have easy access to mobility and assistive devices, including walkers, canes, and call bells
- You contribute to residents' comfort and overall well-being by offering ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support, including oral and dental care
- You encourage residents to participate in programs offered by the Resident Engagement Team, whether individual or in groups
- You are compassionate, patient, and motivated by work that enriches the lives of seniors
- You have completed a Personal Support Worker program from an accredited institution or are an Internationally Educated Nurse with a recognized nursing degree
- You are detail-oriented and skilled in delivering safe, effective bedside care, including simple treatments and care procedures
- You communicate with tact and professionalism, building positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues. visitors
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
