Job Summary
Provide hands-on, non-medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities in their homes, assisting with personal care tasks, mobility, household duties, and meal preparation. Observe and report changes in a client's condition or safety concerns to your supervisor while maintaining client confidentiality and following infection control guidelines. Complete required documentation accurately and respond appropriately to emergencies. Treat all clients with dignity and respect while maintaining dependable attendance. This role offers flexible scheduling with opportunities for career growth through certifications like CNA or DSP.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire
- CNA (active or inactive) accepted
- Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings
- Ability to work independently
- Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities
- Strong communication skills
- Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent)
