Job Summary
Personal Support Specialist (PSS) in-home care in Van Buren, ME. Provide hands-on non-medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities in clients’ homes per each client’s plan of care. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene), mobility and transfers, light housekeeping, meal preparation and errands, companionship, and operating within infection control and HIPAA guidelines. Maintain accurate documentation, report changes to supervisors, and follow client care plans. Training and ongoing supervision provided; flexible scheduling with full-time or part-time opportunities. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications; mileage reimbursement eligible where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire
- CNA (active or inactive) accepted
- No experience required - training and support provided
- Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings
- Ability to work independently
- Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities
- Strong communication skills
- Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent)
