Job Summary
Litigation paralegal role supporting a Plano, TX plaintiff PI practice. Manages a focused caseload from intake through resolution, drafting petitions and discovery, coordinating with attorneys and experts, handling e-filing, calendar management, medical records and lien calculations, and maintaining clear client communication to move motor vehicle, premises liability, and complex injury matters toward trial. On-site at Plano office with occasional travel within the DFW area.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of full-time paralegal experience on the plaintiff side of Texas personal injury work (MVA, premises, product, dog-bite, wrongful death, or catastrophic injury)
- Working command of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Rules of Evidence, and CPRC Chapters 16, 33, 41, and 71
- Proven ability to draft petitions and discovery with minimal attorney rewrites
- Strong understanding of Texas e-filing, service of process, citations, and scheduling orders in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant Counties
- Hands-on experience with case management software (Filevine strongly preferred; Litify, SmartAdvocate, or CASEpeer experience also valued)
- Comfort handling subrogation, ERISA, Medicare/Medicaid set-asides, and lien negotiation
- Excellent written and verbal communication; client-centered
- Highly organized and deadline-driven; calendar-focused
- Notary commission (or willingness to become one within 90 days)
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus, not a requirement
- Trial-prep experience and at least one case through verdict or eve-of-trial settlement is a major plus
