Job Summary
Maintain and organize physical and electronic client files, including medical records, billing records, and case chronologies. Prepare medical chronologies and damages summaries for demand packages, while drafting, reviewing, and editing legal correspondence such as demand letters and discovery responses. Calendars and monitors critical deadlines, files documents with courts, and manages attorney calendars for appointments and depositions. Coordinate discovery logistics, communicate with insurance adjusters and medical providers, and conduct basic legal research. Greet clients, screen calls, and provide general administrative support to attorneys.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of general office practices and legal terminology
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, legal case management software, and E-filing systems
- Experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, and/or plaintiff's employment law
- Familiarity with medical records and medical billing terminology
- Familiarity with state and federal court filing procedures and local rules
- Legal Assistant: 1 year
