Job Summary
Provide personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at military installations in Salt Lake City. Responsibilities include one-on-one counseling, conducting briefings and presentations, developing and distributing informational financial materials, coordinating and publicizing Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, and delivering virtual counseling as needed. Works with installation leadership and POC to ensure program scope and needs are met, assists with spending plans for extended absences, and uses DoD protocols for duty-to-warn situations. Requires collaboration with DoD and contract activities, ongoing supervision, in-service training, and adherence to security and confidentiality requirements. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination), 3+ years of financial counseling experience, U.S. citizenship with English fluency (bilingual in English/Spanish as required), ability to obtain OCI disclosures, and certification such as AFC, CFP, or ChFC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (or combination of education and experience as specified)
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizen and fluent in English
- May be bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract
- Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Must pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI process
- One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Driver license in state of residence (in-state)
