Job Summary
Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families at military installations, including one-on-one counseling, briefings and presentations, helping clients establish spending plans for extended absences, and developing and distributing informational financial materials. Coordinate with installation leadership and POCs to ensure within-scope services, and offer Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics spanning the military lifecycle. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes when authorized, and adhere to DoD protocols and the OCI process. Requires clear communication with leadership, participation in training/quality-improvement activities, and the ability to work in a security-conscious environment. Certifications in AFC, CFP, or ChFC are listed, with bilingual English/Spanish capability preferred by contract.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizen
- speak fluent English
- If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish
- One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Must be able to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI process
