Job Summary
Provide personal financial counseling at military installations, delivering education and counseling across financial services to service members and their families. Responsibilities include one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other staff, conducting briefings and presentations, and providing referral resources. Coordinate with installation POCs to ensure services meet installation needs; assist with spending plans for extended absences; develop and provide financial materials and offer Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics such as deployment, career events, and lifecycle scenarios. Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes as needed (secure video teleconference, web-based chat). Maintain DoD protocols for duty-to-warn, participate in supervision and quality-improvement activities, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizen and fluent English
- If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish
- One of AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 background investigation
- Ability to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI
- In-state driver license (DL) may be required
