Job Summary
Conduct full breadth of personal financial counseling services for military service members and families, including one-on-one sessions, briefings, presentations, and referral resources. Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering topics such as deployment, career events, and first duty station arrival. Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences and manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol. Utilize virtual counseling modes via secure online chat or video teleconference when authorized. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, in-services, and quality improvement committees to share installation trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship
- Fluent English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (if required by contract)
- Favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification
- Valid Driver License in State
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
