Job Summary
Provide full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families at Missouri installations, including one-on-one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referral resources. Conduct workshops covering the military lifecycle from arrival to post-deployment, and assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences. Utilize virtual counseling modes such as secure online chat or video teleconference when authorized by OSD FINRED. Manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol and coordinate with installation Points of Contact to ensure program scope compliance. Maintain regular supervision and participate in quality improvement committees. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of financial counseling experience, and AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification. Must be a U.S. citizen with a Tier 2 adjudication and OCI clearance. Salary ranges from $58,440 to $93,500.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship
- Fluent English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (if required by the contract)
- Favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification
- Valid Driver License in State

- Skills to effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication, such as web based, secure online chat, or video-based communications and secure video teleconference
