Job Summary
Conduct full-breadth personal financial counseling for military service members and families, including one-on-one sessions, briefings, presentations, and referrals. Develop spending plans for extended absences and coordinate workshops covering topics from first duty station to post-deployment. Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol and utilize virtual counseling tools when authorized. Communicate trends to leadership and participate in regular supervision and training. Requires a Bachelor's degree, three years of financial counseling experience, and AFC/CFP/ChFC certification. U.S. citizenship, Tier 2 investigation, and OCI clearance are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship
- Fluent English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (if required by the contract)
- Favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification
- Valid Driver License in State
