Job Summary
Provide full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families, including one-on-one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referral resources. Conduct educational workshops and seminars covering topics such as deployment cycles and career events, while assisting members in establishing spending plans for extended absences. Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol and coordinate with installation Points of Contact to ensure program scope and needs are met. Utilize virtual counseling modes via secure online chat or video teleconference when authorized. Manage trends and issues through regular supervision and participation in quality improvement committees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship
- Fluent English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (if required by the contract)
- Favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification
- Valid Driver License in State
