Personal Care Worker

Job Summary
Support and supervise elderly individuals on medical appointments or outings. Provide personal care according to approved care plans, including physical exercise, hygiene, grooming, bathing, and dressing. Assist clients with activities of daily living, mealtime support, and care for bed ambulatory patients. Assess resident needs on an ongoing basis and maintain facility sanitation. Prepare and serve meals as planned and administer prescribed medications. Work 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule where overtime may be required. This role is part of a team approach to plan and organize daily activities at a 24-hour, 365-day facility serving Level 1, 2, and 3 care residents.
Required Qualifications
- Continuing Care Aide Certificate
- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
- Certified First Aide & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with the Elder Home team
- demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Strong Written and verbal communication
- Must Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- Previous home care or childcare experience
- Experience working with First Nations Communities
- Ability to speak/understand Cree
