Personal Care Worker

Job Summary

Conduct direct personal care and housekeeping services for clients in their residences under supervision. Provide assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, while taking accurate vital signs and administering self-administered medications. Travel to multiple client homes using agency or personal vehicles, maintaining appropriate interpersonal communications and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and HIPAA regulations. Complete all required training modules covering elder abuse, first aid, and emergency response, and notify licensed staff immediately of any changes in client condition or incidents of concern.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to pass a background check, criminal and motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • A valid current driver's license and valid automobile insurance, showing you as a covered driver
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Adhere to Envida dress code; appearance is neat and clean
  • Adhere to legal practice standards, including applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards
  • Completes annual education requirements
  • Always maintain confidentiality in all business records
  • Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills
  • Participates in the organization's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
  • Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization
  • Foster a growth oriented, positive, and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Be a strong leader with a solid work ethic and ability to collaborate and coordinate with all team members
  • Proficiency with Smart phones and ability to navigate use of Apps

Desired Qualifications

  • CPR Certification, preferred
  • Additional languages
  • Complete and maintain training to include elder abuse and neglect signs, HIPAA, blood-borne pathogens, emergency response, communication/behavioral management, and professional boundaries, first aid, infection control, safety, and consumer rights
