Job Summary
A Senior Skills Trainer in our Personal Care Attendant Program educated consumers on managing their consumer-directed hands-on care. Responsibilities include assessing consumer ability to manage PCA services, training surrogates the skills needed to manage the PCA program per Mass Health Service Agreement and PCM Contract, maintaining confidentiality, attending in-service and supervision meetings, and ensuring timely completion of documentation. The role requires travel within a 60-mile radius, a valid driver’s license, mileage reimbursement, and in-person orientation. Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills; ability to work within program policies and Mass Health regulations; and commitment to the Independent Living philosophy of consumer control are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; GED or High School Diploma required.
- Experience providing services for people with disabilities and knowledge of PCA programs is preferred.
- Experience or education in teaching or counseling is helpful.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel within assigned service area.
- Travel required; mileage reimbursement provided.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office/Outlook and ability to navigate databases.
