Job Summary
Provide direct resident care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as a Universal Worker in an assisted living environment. Responsibilities include observing residents’ physical and mental conditions, documenting care and incidents, transporting residents to dining and activities, performing first aid and emergency procedures, assisting with meals and dining room duties, coordinating with care co-workers for transfers and lifting, assisting with housekeeping and laundry, attending trainings, and supporting infection control and safety practices. Requires high school diploma or GED (one year+ personal care experience preferred) and current First Aid/CPR certification; Food Handlers permit as required by state. Prior experience in dementia care and Revised Fundamentals of Care recommended; on-call availability and shift patterns (NOC, 4 on 2 off) with competitive hourly pay ($19.38-$25, DOE) and potential shift differential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Food Handlers permit if required by State
- Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
- Revised Fundamentals of Care training
- Dementia Care training
- First Aid training
- CPR training (if not already provided)
- HIV training if not able to provide appropriate documentation of prior training
