Job Summary
Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility needs while preparing meals, performing light housekeeping, and providing medication reminders per individualized care plans. Monitor and report changes in client conditions to supervisors or nurses. Offer companionship by accompanying clients to appointments, community activities, games, or crafts. Maintain physical strength to assist individuals in and out of bed. This role supports individuals with illness, injury, disability, or aging in their homes in Staten Island, NY, ensuring safety, comfort, and independence.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a recent physical completed within the last six months or be willing to obtain one as soon as possible to begin training
- Must have the physical strength to assist individuals in and out of bed and in other situations as needed
- Strong basic caregiving skills, including assisting with daily living activities
- Must have patience, empathy, emotional stability, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Must be able to read, speak, and write in English
