Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary
Greets participants upon arrival, assists with meal service and cleanup, and provides supervision and encouragement throughout the day. Attends daily morning reports, prepares participants for afternoon departure, and escorts them to vans for transport. Assists with activities, ADLs, and simple treatments under nursing direction, including catheter care and skin checks. Accompanies participants to medical appointments as assigned. This role requires a Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide, bilingual English/Spanish skills, and one year of experience with frail populations. The position supports the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center's Day Health Center, a Top Places to Work recipient recognized by the Boston Globe.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- A minimum of one year of experience working with the elderly or other frail populations
- Care and respect for frail elders
- Creativity and confidence in leading group activities
- Reliable transportation to travel to other sites when needed
