Job Summary
PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT (PCA) in Assisted Living tasked with assisting residents with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and ADLs; changing bed linen; taking and recording vital signs; assisting CNAs; turning and repositioning residents; oral hygiene and denture care; promptly answering call bells; completing end-of-shift patient care records and monthly observation/activity records; collecting urine/stool specimens; giving enemas; maintaining a clean patient unit and nursing equipment; following restraint policy; assisting with post-mortem care; ensuring residents have fresh water; adhering to policies; assisting with rehabilitation activities; reporting to charge nurse; following facility policies; requires CNA assistance when transferring; must comply with NA1 program and state test timelines; must be willing to work with geriatric patients and other staff; uniform and professional appearance; follows training and policy requirements; visit libertyseniorliving.com for more information
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a graduate of a NA1 training program and pass state test within 4 months from completion
- Must be willing to care for geriatric patients and have genuine concern for their welfare
- Must be willing to receive, understand, and follow orders
- Must be willing to work and cooperate with other nursing staff, departments, and families and visitors
- Must be kind and respectful to patients, staff, and visitors
- Must be able to use equipment safely and follow safety procedures
- Wears approved uniform and maintains neat appearance
- Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and Facility policies and procedures
- Must attend in service training and other staff meetings as required
