Job Summary
Assist with all care needs for residents, including lifting up to 40 pounds, taking vital signs, and maintaining confidentiality. Support dining room operations by setting up, taking orders, serving, and busing tables. Facilitate daily activities, transport residents to scheduled events and lobby appointments, and notify the nurse on duty of any resident condition changes. Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and attend mandatory in-services. Work rotating day, evening, or overnight shifts at Livingston Place Assisted Living in Washington, DC.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree
- Current CNA or Home Health Certification from Washington DC
- Valid and current CPR/First Aid Certified
- Ability to complete a Health Certificate, including TB test and Physical
- Proficiency in English
- Has familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Must be able to take accurate vital signs and weights
- Must be able to notify the nurse on duty, Director of Nursing, or Executive Director of resident changes of condition
- Must be able to assist in the dining room during meal times including set up, take meal/beverage orders, serve, and bus tables
- Must be able to assist with activities when required and/or be responsible for getting the residents to scheduled activities
- Must be able to get residents ready and to the lobby for scheduled appointments
- Must be able to keep current on First Aid/CPR
- Must be able to attend and participate in the scheduled mandatory in-services and other scheduled meetings
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of relevant experience preferred
