Job Summary
Conduct daily personal care for clients by assisting with hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding, and mobility while maintaining a safe environment. Administer treatments and medications per physician orders and the established Care Plan, documenting all activities on the Aide Charting Sheet. Provide emotional support, encourage client independence, and report any changes in condition to the nursing supervisor. Run authorized errands and assist with bill payments only when documented. Maintain compliance with agency policies, wear identification, and possess the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Must have a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements
- Must have evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate
- Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client's family and agency personnel
- Must have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled
- Must be able to lift, turn and transfer clients
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stoop and bend
- Must have visual/ hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication
- Must be able to verbalize so that the average person can understand
- Must be neatly dressed
- Must have good personal hygiene habits
- Must maintain good health habits with regular physical and dental exams
- Must wear an identification badge while working
- Must maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures
- Must maintain in-service requirements as specified in State and agency regulations
