Job Summary
Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living including toileting, ambulation, eating, transferring, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene according to individual Care Plans. Teach self-help skills to maximize independence, respond to hand bell calls, and assist with transportation when directed by the ED or Administrator. Support activities coordination, help maintain resident dignity and safety, and ensure appropriate clothing and bed-making. Notify staff of medical needs or status changes, apply restraints as ordered, and maintain accurate documentation of progress and incidents. Adhere to all home policies, safety procedures, and resident rights while participating in required continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- C.N.A or Personal Care Aide Certificate (80-Hour) with Personal Care Aide Training within 6-Months of hire
- ability to read, write, understand and follow directions
- good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to Lift, Push, Pull and Carry a minimum of 50 pounds
- ability to Bend, Stoop, Squat, and reach overhead as needed
- at least 18 years old
- no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
- clear SBI record
- two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test)
