Job Summary
Personal Banker at KeyBank engages clients in conversations to uncover financial wellness opportunities, opens and grows client relationships (consumer and small business), and provides tailored guidance and solutions. The role emphasizes sales-driven, proactive outreach, cross-selling of deposit products and lending options, collaboration with branch teammates and partners, adherence to risk and policy requirements, and delivering a high-quality client experience through in-person and outbound conversations. Strong relationship-building, communication, and digital-platform literacy are essential, along with the ability to spark conversations, manage referrals, and support branch operations and client transactions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent business experience (required) or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources
- Understanding of consumer credit - including loan to value, debt to income and credit reports
- Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking
- Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objection, and asking fact-finding questions
- Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel)
- Working knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key
- Licenses and Certifications Notary License (preferred)
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and client-service skills
- Ability to evaluate financial information to understand clients' financial health and identify opportunities
