Job Summary
The Personal Banker I role involves assessing customers’ financial needs and recommending suitable products and services to meet immediate and future goals. Under supervision, the role generates leads, builds and maintains customer relationships, and delivers clear guidance both at the service window and through needs assessments and sales activities. Requires 1–3 years of banking-related experience or a background in teller or customer-contact/sales roles. Responsibilities include opening various accounts, handling loan applications, processing transfers and orders, delivering responsive service, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards. The position supports multiple branch locations and emphasizes proactive outreach to generate referrals and meet growth objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years of banking experience or previous Teller or experience in a customer contact/sales position or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of bank operations, products and services, and regulatory/compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to adhere to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands as required by a banking role
- Valid driver’s license (as applicable per position requirements)
- Ability to support multiple branch locations as needed
- Familiarity with security procedures and risk controls
- Compliance training completion (annual)
- Basic computer terminal and software proficiency
- Outbound calling and needs assessment skills
- Sales skills and product knowledge (deposits, loans, etc.)
