Job Summary
Personal Banker at Provident Bank responsible for establishing relationships with customers to identify and satisfy financial needs, while conducting transactions and delivering a positive branch experience. Responsibilities include processing a variety of financial transactions (opening accounts, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing), cross-selling products and services, developing a book of business, researching and resolving account issues, and promoting products through referrals to other departments. The role combines sales goals (deposit, loan, revenue) with customer service and operational tasks, supports branch management, and may require Life and Health Licensing. Must build strong customer relationships, meet sales and service expectations, and contribute to a positive customer experience in a retail banking environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6 months of sales and service experience in a customer facing retail environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, written and verbal communication
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based upon the needs of the business
- Demonstrates positive and professional demeanor with all customers and co-workers
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Understand and adhere to safety and security practices
- Demonstrate and apply good relationship building skills
- Proficient at establishing strong connections with customers and prospective customers through consultative conversations affording presentations of sales opportunities
- Strong customer service/advocacy skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong PC skills. Ability to quickly learn various computer programs, including Microsoft office
- Required to register as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS prior to being allowed to take mortgage loan applications, negotiate or extend terms of a mortgage or other loan secured by a residence.
