Job Summary
Persian Language Instructor for eMentor (LEAP/AFCLC) delivering one-on-one and small-group instruction across ILR levels, administering curricula and lesson plans, preparing instructional aids, operating the UCC platform to launch live sessions and troubleshoot issues, delivering sessions aligned with objectives including cultural/military content, providing feedback and assessments, and supporting OnDemand scheduling via LEaDeR. Courses run 24/7 across time zones for a globally distributed force; role supports language development and mission-relevant understanding for Scholars at ILR Level 2 and above. Requires bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related field (or equivalent embedded experience), Advanced Professional Proficiency/Superior in target languages, ability to teach across ILR 0–3+ levels, and strong knowledge of language teaching techniques, instructional design, instructional delivery systems, multimedia design, and office software. ClearBackground check required. Location: Montgomery, AL or Remote (US); travel not required.
Required Qualifications
- Language skills equivalent to ILR Advanced Professional Proficiency or Superior in speaking and writing for each language/dialect taught
- Bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related social science field (History, Political Science, International Relations, Anthropology, Archeology, Cultural Geography) or at least five years of embedded experience in the target cultures
- Ability to deliver instruction and assessments across ILR levels 0 through 3+
- Extensive global regional expertise
- Extensive knowledge of foreign language teaching techniques and instructional systems
- Extensive knowledge of learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology, and Instructional Product Development
- Extensive knowledge of instructional design practices, principles, techniques, and curriculum development
- Extensive knowledge of standardized, web-based, interactive course delivery systems
- Extensive expertise in instructor facilitation and faculty development
- Extensive knowledge of using computers in education and training
- Demonstrated knowledge of multimedia design and delivery (e.g., embedded video)
- General knowledge of and competency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other productivity software
- Candidates may be dual nationals with regional language expertise
- Ability to pass background check
