Job Summary
Permit Technician at Tuff Shed focusing on obtaining building permits and coordinating with building departments. Serve as liaison between Tuff Shed, jurisdictions, customers, and Sales team; prepare permit-related documents (including plot plans), track progress through planning/building departments, and schedule/coordinate on-site inspections with local officials and company representatives. Strong emphasis on customer service, regulatory understanding related to real estate (easements, setbacks, etc.), and proficiency with CRM/office tools (Oracle/JDE/Onyx/Salesforce.com/Goldmine, MS Office). Key duties include maintaining positive relationships with departments, communicating required changes to Sales and Customer, attending in-person meetings or hearings as needed, updating tracking tools, and handling other assigned tasks. Required Qualifications
- Customer-service experience
- Experience creating and tracking multiple projects to completion
- Experience working in a construction or building department environment preferred
- Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software (Oracle, JDE, Onyx, Salesforce.com, Goldmine or similar) preferred
- Ability to solve problems using sound logic and good business judgment
- Ability to read, write and understand instructions
- Ability to prepare effective written correspondence and reports
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public
