Job Summary
Permit Technician responsible for handling permitting and inspection processes in Sonoma County, CA. Serves as primary contact for applicants, contractors, and the public; reviews and processes permit applications for accuracy and compliance with codes and municipal standards; provides customer service, tracks fees, and supports Building, Planning, and Engineering Divisions. Requires attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with internal departments, inspectors, and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in permit processing or administrative support related to permitting is preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to review documents for completeness and accuracy
- Familiarity with applicable codes and regulations related to permitting is a plus
- Proficiency in clerical functions and filing
