Job Summary
Process and issue city permits in accordance with local regulations and building codes; work closely with contractors and property owners to ensure accurate documentation; provide information on permitting processes, assist with permit applications, and maintain detailed records; coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely approvals and inspections for construction and renovation projects; demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and knowledge of permitting software (OpenGov, BluePrince).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of experience in a building or planning department
- six months of experience in processing computerized building permit applications
- ICC Permit Technician certification required or must be obtained within one year of employment
