Job Summary
Permanent Substitute Teacher responsible for supervising and providing instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher. Duties include delivering meaningful instruction aligned to routines, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives; maintaining a safe, orderly classroom; reporting injuries/disruptive behavior; communicating effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders; leaving feedback for the regular teacher; assisting with non-classroom duties; modeling professionalism and confidentiality; and supporting diverse learners. Requires a High School Diploma or GED plus 60 college credits or an Associate’s Degree or higher (or ParaPro assessment) and 21 years of age. Prior experience with children is preferred and the role involves working within Manassas City Public Schools in Virginia.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must possess at least 60 college credit hours; or an Associate’s Degree or higher; or have successfully passed the ParaPro Assessment.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
