Job Summary
Field Superintendent responsible for overseeing on-site construction personnel and activities for multiple locations, ensuring safety, quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. The role spends ~80% in the field managing employees and ~20% in the office, requiring hands-on leadership, safety program administration, and coordination with project managers, customers, inspectors, and owners. Key duties include directing on-site crews, scheduling, material ordering, producing daily production and safety reports, conducting safety meetings and site inspections, training and developing staff, driving and operating equipment as needed, and performing takeoffs and estimating. Requires extensive field management experience, ability to read drawings/plans, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Must have previous management experience
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to work overtime
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and specifications
- Experience with takeoffs and estimating
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
- Proficiency in computer literacy
- Ability to train and develop employees
- Ability to supervise field personnel and coordinate multiple locations
- Experience with GPS/AVL equipment a plus
- Background and criminal record check may be required
- MVR and controlled substances test may be required
- Flexibility to work day/night shifts, weekends/holidays
- Safety compliance and quality standards enforcement
