Job Summary
Provide effective continuation of instruction based on lesson plans and/or instructions provided by the regular teacher across various content areas and grade levels. Effectively communicate assignments, assist students, and supervise the classroom using proper management techniques while maintaining cleanliness and protecting confidential information. Take attendance, follow all safety and emergency procedures, and complete grading of assignments when appropriate. Provide detailed notes and feedback to the regular teacher, adapt as necessary with sound judgment, and follow proper reporting procedures for behavioral issues or suspected child abuse. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- minimum of 60 college credit hours
- Eligibility to hold a KY Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate
- Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites, including Google Suite
- Classroom management techniques
- Documentation and record-keeping techniques
- Communication skills
- Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
- sound judgement and reasoning
- Prioritize, plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with tact and patience
- Follow proper reporting procedures for all matters including but not limited to behavioral issues, bullying, suspected child abuse or neglect, etc.

- Full-time teaching experience
- Related field experience
